    • Pages visited, time spent, and referral source
    • Device fingerprint data for fraud prevention (see Section 7)

    3. How We Use Your Information

    • To provide, maintain, and improve our services
    • To process transactions and send billing information
    • To communicate with you about your account, updates, and support
    • To respond to inquiries and provide customer service
    • To send marketing communications (with your consent)
    • To detect and prevent fraud, chargebacks, and unauthorized access
    • To comply with legal obligations

    4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

    • Service providers: Stripe (payments), Twilio (SMS), Vapi (voice services), PostHog and Google Analytics (analytics)
    • Financing partners: Wisetack and Affirm, when you opt into customer financing
    • Insurance partners: Next Insurance and Thimble, when you request insurance quotes
    • Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect our rights

    5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Transaction records and fraud prevention data are retained for 365 days as required by payment network regulations. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at support@runclockwork.com.

    6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), encryption at rest, row-level security on all database tables, and SOC 2-compliant infrastructure through our hosting and database providers. Payment information is processed by Stripe and never stored on our servers.

    7. Fraud Prevention & Device Fingerprinting

To protect against fraud and chargebacks, we collect device and network information including IP addresses, device fingerprints, and VPN/proxy detection data. This data is used solely for fraud prevention purposes under legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f), Recital 47). We retain this data for 365 days in compliance with Visa Compelling Evidence 3.0 requirements.

    8. SMS and Text Messaging

Clockwork uses SMS text messaging to deliver account-related and transactional notifications to users who have opted in. Our messaging program is operated through Twilio. Full details are available in our Messaging Terms.

    Types of messages we send

    • Account verification codes (OTP) during signup and sign-in
    • Appointment confirmations and reminders generated by contractor accounts on our platform
    • Follow-up messages after you interact with Ava, our phone receptionist
    • Onboarding and account setup reminders
    • Invoice and payment notifications
    • Support ticket updates

We do not send marketing or promotional messages through this program. No third-party advertising.

    How you opt in

By creating a Clockwork account, submitting a contact form with a phone number, or speaking to our phone receptionist Ava and providing a phone number, you are giving Clockwork express written consent to send you the transactional SMS messages described above. Consent is not a condition of purchase. You do not have to opt in to SMS to use the Clockwork platform.

When a contractor customer using the Clockwork platform sends SMS messages to their own end customers (for example, appointment reminders), that contractor is responsible for obtaining consent from their own customers under our Platform Terms.

    Message frequency

Message frequency varies by account activity. A typical active contractor receives between 5 and 30 SMS messages per month from Clockwork directly. Verification codes are sent only when a sign-in or account-change event occurs.

    Message and data rates

Msg & data rates may apply. Check with your wireless carrier for details. Clockwork does not charge for SMS messages.

    How to opt out

Reply STOP to any Clockwork SMS message to unsubscribe from all non-critical text messages. You will receive one final confirmation message and then no further SMS. You can also email support@runclockwork.com to request SMS removal.

Opting out of SMS does not remove your Clockwork account. You will still receive email notifications and in-app alerts.

    How to get help

Reply HELP to any Clockwork SMS message, or email support@runclockwork.com, for assistance with our messaging program.

We do not sell or share phone numbers

Clockwork does not sell, rent, or share phone numbers collected for SMS with any third party for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers are used only to deliver the transactional messages described above and to route voice calls through our contractor phone system. Mobile information is never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

    Supported carriers

Supported carriers include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and other major US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

    9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

    • Access the personal information we hold about you
    • Request correction of inaccurate information
    • Request deletion of your personal information
    • Opt out of marketing communications
